Bill Harley Returns to Pat’s Pastured for a Summer Fried Chicken Picnic on Pasture
There’s just something magical about summer evenings on the farm — good food, live music, kids running through the grass, lawn chairs spread across the pasture, and neighbors gathering together to slow down and enjoy the moment. On July 16th, we’re excited to welcome back one of the longtime staples of our summer event series at Pat’s Pastured: Grammy Award-winning musician and storyteller Bill Harley.

For years, Bill Harley has been one of our favorite returning performers, bringing laughter, music, storytelling, and energy that makes these evenings truly memorable for guests of all ages. Known throughout Rhode Island and beyond for his family-friendly performances, Bill has a unique way of creating events that are just as entertaining for adults as they are for kids. Whether you’ve seen him perform before or are discovering him for the first time, this is the perfect opportunity to experience one of Rhode Island’s most beloved performers in the relaxed setting of our East Greenwich farm. And of course — we couldn’t host a summer gathering without incredible food.
This event’s featured menu is a full Fried Chicken dinner (served buffet style) prepared fresh on-site by our in-house chef using ingredients raised right here at Pat’s Pastured. The star of the evening is our Double Fried Chicken, cooked in our very own rendered grass-fed beef tallow for rich flavor and unbelievable crispness. Alongside the chicken, guests will enjoy homemade Potato Salad, Baked Macaroni and Cheese, Jalapeño Cornbread, Dill Pickles, and a seasonal dessert to finish the night.

Our chickens are pasture-raised right here in Rhode Island, our beef is 100% grass-fed, and our farm is built around regenerative farming practices that prioritize healthy soil, humane animal care, and nutrient-dense food. Events like these give us an opportunity to share not just a meal, but the story behind the food and the farm itself.
This is truly one of our favorite kinds of farm events because it’s built for everyone. Families are encouraged to come out and make an evening of it — we’ll have lawn games, open space for kids to play, and a dedicated kids menu available as well. Bring your lawn chairs, picnic blankets, and your favorite people, and settle in for a laid-back summer evening filled with live music, fresh air, and delicious food.
